West Indies Four Changes in squad for T20I series against Pakistan
ANTIGUA: Cricket West Indies (CWI) on Wednesday announced a 14-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series at home against Pakistan, which will be played in Florida from July 31 to August 3.
The squad sees four changes from the one that was whitewashed 5-0 by Australia earlier this month. Shamar Joseph, Keacy Carty, Alick Athanaze, and Johnson Charles come in for Alzarri Joseph, Evin Lewis, Brandon King, and Shimron Hetmyer, respectively.
CWI stated that Alzarri Joseph has been rested for the T20Is against Pakistan to manage his workload, as he has been a regular across formats during the England tour and the recent home series against Australia.
Evin Lewis is unavailable due to injury and will report to the CWI headquarters for further assessment ahead of the ODI series against Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Shimron Hetmyer and Brandon King both sustained side strains during the final T20I against Australia. Hetmyer will miss the entire home series against Pakistan, while King’s fitness will be monitored to see if he can feature in the ODIs.
