Babar Dropped, Six Uncapped Players Named in Pakistan ODI Squad for Bangladesh
LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board has revealed a 15-player squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Bangladesh Cricket Board’s national side, scheduled from 11 to 15 March in Dhaka.
All three games will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium.
Left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi will continue to lead the ODI team. The selectors have introduced six uncapped players into the setup: Abdul Samad, Maaz Sadaqat, Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, Saad Masood, Sahibzada Farhan and Shamyl Hussain.
Among them, Samad, Sadaqat, Masood and Shamyl were recently part of the Pakistan Shaheens squad that toured Abu Dhabi to face the England Lions.
In a major development, former ODI skipper Babar Azam has not been included in the squad.
Pakistan’s previous ODI assignment came in November last year when they whitewashed Sri Lanka 3-0 at home. That series was Shaheen’s second stint as ODI captain, following his debut leadership role against South Africa in a home series that Pakistan won 2-1.
