Rawalpindi To PSL X Opening Ceremony Tomorrow

The Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium is set to stage the opening ceremony of the 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Friday, April 11, starting at 7:00 PM. The curtain-raiser will be followed by the first clash of the tournament at 8:00 PM between reigning champions Islamabad United and two-time title holders Lahore Qalandars.

This year’s PSL will unfold across four major venues: National Bank Stadium in Karachi, Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Multan Cricket Stadium, and Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The grand finale is scheduled for May 18 at Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium.

The opening ceremony is expected to be a glittering affair, featuring an eclectic mix of performances. Legendary Sufi singer Abida Parveen will grace the stage, alongside cultural showcases by Ali Zafar and modern musical acts by Young Stunners. The PSL 10 anthem will come to life with live performances from its singers—Abrar ul Haq, Ali Zafar, Natasha Baig, and Talha Anjum. A spectacular fireworks show will light up the night to officially kick off the tournament.

Six franchises will compete in 34 matches between April 11 and May 18. Gaddafi Stadium will host the highest number of games (13), including the two Eliminators and the final. Rawalpindi will stage 11 matches, including the first Qualifier on May 13. Meanwhile, National Bank Stadium in Karachi and Multan Cricket Stadium will host five fixtures each.

Fans can also look forward to three double-headers during the league, two of which will be held on Saturdays, with the third set for Labour Day on May 1.
