Agha hopeful Pakistan have kept their best for the historic Asia Cup final against India

DUBAI: Pakistan skipper Salman Ali Agha voiced optimism that his side will rise to the occasion and produce their “best cricket” in the historic ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 final against India, set to take place on Sunday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

The clash is poised to mark a landmark moment in the sport, as India and Pakistan meet in the tournament’s final for the first time in over 40 years.

Pakistan secured their berth by narrowly defeating Bangladesh by 11 runs in a decisive Super Four encounter, while India marched into the final unbeaten.

Despite having lost just two matches in the eight-team competition—both to India—Agha emphasized that his team has the ability to overcome any opposition if they play to their strengths and stick to their plans.

“There is always pressure in a Pakistan-India contest, but the truth is, we made more errors than they did, and that cost us,” Agha said. “If we minimize our mistakes, we can win, and that’s exactly what we aim to do.”

When asked how he envisions Pakistan in the final, Agha smiled and replied, “You’ll see us as winners.”

“Our goal is to bring our best game. We know that if we deliver across the full 40 overs and execute our plans properly, we can beat any side—and that is what we intend to do,” he added.

Regarding the team lineup for the high-profile showdown, the Pakistani captain noted that the final XI will be selected based on the pitch and match conditions, declining to reveal any tactical details ahead of the big game.
