David Warner Named Karachi Kings Captain

Karachi Kings, the HBL PSL franchise representing Pakistan’s largest city, has officially appointed Australian cricket star David Warner as captain for the upcoming 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL). The seasoned left-hander, celebrated for his aggressive leadership and match-winning abilities, will lead the team in their quest for glory in the much-anticipated tournament.

A World Cup champion and one of the most explosive T20 openers, Warner brings vast experience to the role. Having captained teams in global leagues for over a decade, including the Big Bash League (BBL), he is expected to usher in a new era for the Kings. Warner was Karachi Kings’ first pick in the HBL PSL Players Draft 2025, held at Lahore’s historic Hazuri Bagh on January 13, reinforcing the franchise’s trust in his leadership.

The team management also expressed deep appreciation for Shan Masood, who captained the side in the previous season. His leadership during HBL PSL 9 played a crucial role in shaping a balanced squad, blending emerging talent with seasoned players. The franchise lauded his professionalism, tactical insight, and commitment to team cohesion.
