Lahore Blues Becomes The Champions Of National T20 Cup 2025
Faisalabad, 27 March 2025: Hussain Talat’s Lahore Region Blues dominated the final of the Bank Alfalah Presents Inverex Solar Energy National T20 Cup 2024-25, securing a commanding nine-wicket victory over Peshawar Region at Iqbal Stadium on Thursday night.
Lahore Blues claimed the winner’s prize of PKR 5 million from the total prize pool of PKR 9.4 million, while Peshawar Region, the runners-up, received PKR 2.5 million.
Chasing a modest target of 111, Lahore Blues comfortably crossed the finish line with four overs to spare. Opener Umar Siddiq led the charge with an unbeaten 64 off 46 balls, striking six fours and two sixes. He shared a 45-run opening stand with Imran Butt before forging an unbroken 66-run partnership with Junaid Ali (30 off 30 balls, three fours) to seal the victory.
Earlier, Lahore Blues’ bowlers kept Peshawar in check, restricting them to 110-9 in their allotted 20 overs. Only three Peshawar batters managed to reach double digits, with Iftikhar Ahmed (34 off 33 balls, two fours) and Mohammad Zulkifal (32 off 29 balls, four fours, one six) being the main contributors.
Player of the Match Mohammad Salman Mirza starred with the ball, claiming 4-21 in his four-over spell, while left-arm spinner Mohammad Irfan chipped in with 2-20. Qasim Akram, Nisar Ahmed, and Mohammad Rizwan took one wicket each.
