Najam Sethi To Present Pakistan’s Case in ICC Meeting

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee chief Najam Sethi and CEO Faisal Hasnain will leave for Dubai tomorrow.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) will present its position on the departure of the Asia Cup and the World Cup 2023 scheduled in India. The next day of the ICC meeting, the meeting of the Asian Cricket Council is also scheduled where Najam Sethi and Faisal Hasnain will fight for Pakistan to remain host asia cup 2022.On the sidelines of the management committee chief Najam Sethi, visitors from the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) and other board heads are also expected.

Najam Sethi has made it clear in recent interviews that if India does not come to Pakistan to play the Asia Cup, then we will not go there for the World Cup. Pakistan is also scheduled to host the ICC Champions trophy in 2025.

The ICC board meeting on March 20 is also very important in this regard because despite the passing of several deadlines for the mega event to be held from October 10 to November 26, the Indian board has still given tax exemptions to the ICC for teams, media and do not submit visa issuance documents for fans.

In particular, it is important to ensure the security and issuance of visas for the Pakistani team, fans and media persons.

According to ICC rules, the host country of any ICC event has to obtain tax exemptions from the government, but Indian tax laws do not allow such tax exemptions, which have already been requested by the ICC.

It should be noted that if the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) is not able to get this tax exemption, the ICC may lose more than 116 million dollars in the form of 21.84% tax on broadcasting income which will have to be borne by the Council of India Cricket Board and all other member countries.
