Pakistan Squad For England & T20 WorldCup likely To Be Announced Today
The national cricket team for the T20 series against England will be announced today, while the last date for submitting the squad list for the ICCT20 World Cup is September 15.
The series of 7 T20 matches between Pakistan and England cricket teams is starting from September 20 in Karachi.
The England team will arrive on September 15 while the national squad will assemble in Karachi on September 16. The announcement of the national squad for the series is expected today, while the last date for the announcement of the ICCT Twenty World Cup squad is also September 15, in which the ICC has not yet been approached for an extension.
The batsmen’s poor performance in the Asia Cup has left the selection committee worried about announcing the same squad for the series against England and the World Cup, and the PCB think tank is mulling over different combinations.
The batting line-up combination is likely to be changed while the inclusion of two wicket-keepers in the squad is also possible.
Apart from this, fast bowler Shaheen Afridi is still undergoing rehab and has yet to start bowling. All these issues have become a headache for the think tank.
In case of contacting the ICC to extend the deadline for the announcement of the squad and then in case of permission, the national squad for the World Cup will be announced during the series against England, otherwise the same squad along with the reserve players will be announced on September 15.
It should be noted that the T20 World Cup will be played in Australia from October 16 this year.
