Pakistan to Face Hong Kong in Asian Games 2026 Quarter-Final

NISSHIN: Pakistan have been drawn against Hong Kong, China, in the first quarter-final of the Asian Games 2026 cricket tournament, with the match set to take place at Korogi Sports Park on Monday.

Hong Kong secured second place in Group B with two points from two matches after Oman’s final group game against Malaysia was abandoned without a ball being bowled. Malaysia finished top of the group with three points.

Pakistan, along with India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, advanced directly to the quarter-finals based on their rankings.

Malaysia will now meet Bangladesh in the fourth quarter-final on Tuesday afternoon at the same venue.

In Group A, Nepal finished at the top after their match against hosts Japan was also washed out. Nepal had posted 149/4 in 15 overs before the rain brought an early end to the contest. The result ended Japan’s campaign, with the hosts finishing bottom of the group with one point.

Nepal will face Sri Lanka in the third quarter-final on Tuesday morning, while Afghanistan, who finished second in Group A with two points, will take on India in the second quarter-final on Monday afternoon.

The four quarter-final winners will progress to the semi-finals, scheduled for October 1. The bronze-medal playoff and gold-medal match will be played on October 3.
