Pakistan Women’s Squads Announced for Asia Cup and Asian Games

The Pakistan Cricket Board has unveiled its 15-member squads for the DP World Women’s Asia Cup 2026 and the women’s cricket competition at the 20th Asian Games, with Fatima Sana back as captain for both assignments.

Fatima missed Pakistan’s recent T20I series against Sri Lanka because of her commitments in The Hundred and will now return to lead the national side.

The Women’s Asia Cup will take place in Dubai from 28 August to 13 September, featuring eight teams. Pakistan have been drawn in Group A alongside India, Thailand and Hong Kong, China. Their campaign begins against Thailand on 1 September, followed by matches against India on 5 September and Hong Kong, China, on 7 September.

The semi-finals will be played on 10 and 11 September, with the tournament final scheduled for 13 September at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Pakistan will then head to Japan for the 20th Asian Games. They are seeded alongside Thailand and will meet them in the fourth quarter-final on 17 September at Korogi Athletic Park in Aichi. A victory would send Pakistan into a semi-final against either Sri Lanka or Malaysia on 20 September, with the medal matches scheduled for 22 September.

Pakistan have previously won women’s cricket gold at the 2010 and 2014 Asian Games, while they finished fourth at the 2022 edition.

Several players have been selected for both competitions, including Muneeba Ali Siddiqui, Shawaal Zulfiqar, Ayesha Zafar, Gull Feroza, Saira Jabeen, Eyman Fatima, Eman Naseer, Umm-e-Hani, Tuba Hassan, Nashra Sundhu and Momina Riasat.

Najiha Alvi, Waheeda Akhtar and Sadia Iqbal have been included in the Asia Cup squad, while Aliya Riaz, Tasmia Rubab and Humna Bilal will join the Asian Games contingent after the team travels from the UAE to Japan.

The national side will begin its preparations with a training camp at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore, running from 16 to 25 August.
