PCB Announces World-Class Cricket Stadium in Jeddah After Historic Saudi Deal

JEDDAH: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken a major step towards expanding cricket’s footprint in Saudi Arabia by entering into a historic strategic partnership with the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation (SACF), which includes plans for the construction of a world-class cricket stadium in Jeddah.

The agreement was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and SACF Chairman Prince Saud bin Mishal Al Saud. The partnership marks the first strategic collaboration of its kind between the two cricketing bodies and aims to support the rapid development of the sport across the Kingdom.

As part of the agreement, a modern cricket venue will be developed in Jeddah with advanced facilities and infrastructure designed to meet international standards. The stadium will be built in line with International Cricket Council (ICC) regulations, allowing Saudi Arabia to host international fixtures and large-scale cricket events in the future.

The collaboration is not limited to stadium construction. Both organizations will also work together in areas such as cricket infrastructure expansion, sharing technical expertise, planning projects and implementing operational frameworks to strengthen the sport’s foundation in Saudi Arabia.

The initiative is also expected to align with Saudi Vision 2030 by encouraging sports investment, boosting tourism linked to sporting events, increasing community participation and enhancing overall quality of life.

Following the signing ceremony, Mohsin Naqvi called the agreement an important moment for the future of cricket in the Kingdom. He said the PCB was pleased to contribute towards the game’s growth in Saudi Arabia and expressed confidence that the partnership would open new pathways for players while strengthening sporting relations between the two nations.

He further stated that the collaboration would play an important role in expanding cricket’s reach and building stronger connections within the sport.

Meanwhile, Prince Saud bin Mishal Al Saud said the agreement represented more than just the development of a new cricket venue. He highlighted the partnership as a long-term commitment aimed at creating sustainable growth and a promising future for cricket in Saudi Arabia.
