Shaheen’s Injury Created The Difference in Result – BABAR AZAM

In the final of the ICC Twenty World Cup, England defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets and won the T20 cricket crown.

The T20 World Cup final was played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground where England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first. Playing first, Pakistan scored 137 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs, in response, England completed the target of 138 runs for 5 wickets in 19 overs.

Speaking in the post-match presentation after the defeat in the final, Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam said, “Congratulations to England for the win, and thank you very much to the cricket fans who came to support us.

He said that it was an honor for us to reach the final, I think we scored 20 runs less, our bowling is the fastest bowling in the world, unfortunately Shaheen Afridi got injured.

Later, in a press conference in Melbourne, Babar said that it was a pity to lose the final, we scored 20 runs less but still the bowlers showed effort, even with Shaheen’s injury, a good chance was not missed.

He said that the pressure was not taken, the wickets kept falling quickly, the reason for forming the partnership was more dot balls, at that time there was a dire need for a good partnership, dot balls have been the weakness of the Pakistan team which has to be removed. Babar said that there was a lot of criticism on the middle order but the middle order performed well in the World Cup, overall I am satisfied with the performance of the team, the result could have changed if Shaheen was not injured.

It should be noted that Shaheen Afridi could not complete his over at the crucial stage in the final of the World Cup. Shaheen Afridi went off the field after cracking one ball of the 16th over, after which Iftikhar Ahmed completed the rest of the over.

Shaheen Afridi’s knee hit the ground while taking the catch of Harry Brook on Shadab Khan’s bowling.
