Pakistan Can Still Qualify For Semifinal

In the important match of Group B in the T20 World Cup, Pakistan defeated South Africa by 33 runs to maintain the chances of reaching the semi-finals.

The national team’s victory against South Africa sealed that the two semi-finalist teams from Group 2 will be decided after all the teams have played their final matches.

India are currently on the first position in the group with 6 points, but a win against Zimbabwe will take them to the semi-finals, but if they lose, they will have to rely on run rate.

Similarly, South Africa is second with 5 points, it will need a must-win against Netherlands to reach the semi-finals. If the Proteas suffer an upset defeat at the hands of the Netherlands, whoever wins the match between Pakistan and Bangladesh will pave the way for the semi-finals.

Pakistan’s entry into the semi-finals depends on the success against Bangladesh and the defeat of India and South Africa. If the Netherlands beat South Africa and Pakistan wins against Bangladesh, they will have 6 points and will overtake South Africa and reach the semi-finals.

If both India and South Africa lose their final matches, Babar XI will not only qualify for the semi-finals but also top the group, but this is unlikely.

On the other hand, if Indian team defeats Zimbabwe and South Africa Netherlands, then Pakistan will be out of the event.
