Sarfaraz Ahmed – The Role Model For Many

Sarfaraz Ahmed, the former skipper of the Pakistani cricket team, has had a rollercoaster journey in the world of cricket. From being a young wicketkeeper-batsman with a lot of potential, to becoming one of the most successful captains of Pakistan, Sarfaraz’s journey has been nothing short of inspiring.
In 2006 sarfaraz given a chance to lead Pak under 19 team with his captaincy skills he helped the team to grab the world trophy.

After that Sarfaraz made his international debut for Pakistan in 2007, and quickly established himself as a reliable wicketkeeper-batsman. He was known for his quick reflexes behind the stumps and his ability to score runs at a brisk pace. .
In 2016, Sarfaraz was named the captain of the Pakistani cricket team in all formats, and he led the team to a historic victory in the 2017 Champions Trophy, where they defeated arch-rivals India in the final. It was a defining moment in his captaincy career, as Pakistan became the first team to win the tournament twice.

Sarfaraz’s journey as a captain was not without its challenges, as the team struggled in the 2019 World Cup, with the team failing to make it past the group stage. Sarfaraz was also removed as captain in all formats in 2019.

But still after all those set back in life he started to play domestic cricket on regular intervals and performed well for his team if we look at his domestic career he performed really well he always had a successful domestic cricket career, having represented several teams in Pakistan’s domestic circuit. He has played for teams such as Karachi, Sindh, and Pakistan A, and has consistently performed well in both first-class and limited-overs cricket.

In first-class cricket, Sarfaraz has a career average of 38.86, with over 5,000 runs scored in over 100 matches. He has also scored 12 centuries and 20 half-centuries. He has been a consistent performer in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy (Pakistan’s first-class tournament) and has led the Karachi team to many victories.

In limited-overs cricket, Sarfaraz has also been a consistent performer. He has played in over 200 List A (50 over) matches and has scored over 4,500 runs with an average of 34.09. He has also played in over 100 T20 matches and has scored over 1,500 runs with an average of 21.43.

Despite the setbacks, Sarfaraz has remained a vital member of the Pakistani cricket team, and continues to be one of the most promising wicketkeeper-batsmen in the world. His journey, filled with highs and lows, has been a testament to his resilience and determination.

Recently sarfaraz ahmed gave a remarkable performance against the new Zealand team and for sure he still have a long way to go, it will be really interesting that we will be back to rashid and moin era as we have now sarfaraz and rizwan and both are really good on their own, I must say that sarfaraz is not only knocking the door for the national team but he is actually going to knock the door out to make his spot in to the playing 11.
